Supervisor – Shipping/Receiving

Summary

Coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties. Supervises up to 10 Forklift and Shuttle Driver, Railcar, and Shipping Lead personnel.

Responsibilities

• Studies shipping reports, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
• Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping platform.
• Compiles records of unfilled orders.
• Answers incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
• Greets and signs in Shipping and Receiving drivers.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when trucks have arrived and coordinates priority loading of trucks.
• Directs Forklift Drivers.
• Inspects trailers.
• Enters data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes; files or routes source documents after entry; and responds to inquiries regarding entered data.
• Prepares Shipping and Receiving status reports.

Requirements

• Schedule: 2nd shift; 2:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. with overtime based on production demand.
• Ability to lift and throw up to 50 pounds.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers and printers.
• Math skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
