The Opportunity

As a member of the Ally Supply Chain (ASC) team supporting the Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO) line of business, you will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction and savings within their areas of responsibility. The candidate will help to mitigate supplier and contractual risks for the business by:
  • Ongoing Management: Support the enablement of contracts in the Coupa contract repository. Support the management of users, suppliers, and initiate improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for all aspects of team activities, directing organizational and process change to optimize performance and mitigate risk. Manages and coaches medium to large projects through all phases. Responsible for identifying and controlling scope, quality and schedule while managing team activities. Partners with ASC and Line of business management to determine business needs and establishing strategies. Ensures team effectively creates and communicates project status reports.

The Work Itself

  • Manages the coordination of sourcing activities within enterprise technology operations for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of vendor reliability; manages the surveying of vendors to maintain adequate working relationship.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners and key suppliers.
  • Lead multiple projects as an individual contributor.
  • May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts.
  • Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major contracts.
  • Manage/facilitate effective fact based negotiation strategies to maximize contract benefits and risk mitigation.

The Skills You Bring

  • 3+ years of strategic sourcing, negotiation and other relevant procurement management experience.
  • Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Appropriate professional affiliations/certifications preferred.
  • Preferred management experience (direct management of people and or system management).
  • Proficiency in computer applications, business and industry analysis, financial analysis, supplier selection and management, contract negotiations, conflict management, decision making, strategic thinking.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to lead a work effort to negotiate price, rates, details, contract terms and conditions.
  • Analytical ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans.
  • Must possess good individual communication skills
  • Is able to balance/prioritize multiple projects
  • Has demonstrated the ability to manage large projects across multiple parties while delivering results.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to handle difficult situations with clients and/or vendor negotiations.
