Senior Piping Designer
LOCATION:
Lake Charles
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Sr. Piping Designer supervises Piping Designers and Technicians for all phases of the piping design scope.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides Piping Design Leads with the correct resources to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.- Reviews work of Piping Design Leads to ensure quality and requirements are met.
- Piping Designer assists in planning schedules and workforce requirements for projects.
- Mastered plant layout and design
- Maintains and promotes a focus on Polaris's products, whether engineering, fabrication, or construction.
- Piping Designer ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and effective change management.
- The individual in this role assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control.
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Sr. Piping Designer has ten years of experience in piping design for Refining, Gas Processing, or LNG projects.- The individual should have mastered current piping design, drafting responsibilities, and software packages.
- The candidate demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of design concepts and systems.
- Seven years of AutoCAD experience is required.
- Typically has 8+ years of progressive experience in plant layout, piping design, design modeling, and drafting as a Design Lead
- High School diploma required.
- College or associate degree preferred.
- Available for short-term travel
IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:
Reports to the Project Manager of Piping / Mechanical
V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
