Mission:

Quantum is seeking a customer oriented Senior Network Engineer to provide support to National Cyber Security Operations Center (NCSOC) in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will play an integral role in designing and managing internal networks as well providing networking support for sensors deployed in client environments. The candidate will also manage security compliance for all network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs while reliably implementing new network technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and present comprehensive and accurate reports, training, and presentations for both technical and executive audiences
• Creates topology drawings and other documentation of network architecture
• Present proposed changes to network architecture to the internal review board
• Utilizing cutting edge tools to maintain visibility of IT environments with complete asset discovery
• Design LAN upgrades for port capacity, speed and meet redundancy requirements
• Implement and troubleshoot multi-factor authentication for network management
• Troubleshoots switch, router, and firewall connectivity on IT networks
• Perform hardware configuration, installation, updating, and patching of all network devices
• Perform thorough investigations and root cause analysis across IT networks to reduce threats and down time
• Manage security compliance for all network devices (SRGs and STIGs).
• Document and enforce security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines as it relates to the IT landscape

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline degree, may consider 10 years of experience and certifications may be accepted in lieu of Degree.
• Advanced Networking experience: Cisco technologies; Network Virtualization
• Advanced experience with Palo and Cisco firewalls
• Excellent IP networking fundamentals and troubleshooting IP protocols
• Implementation and working knowledge of network port security.
• Strong technical documentation skills both in written and diagram form.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues, ideas, and solutions.
• Capability to work in a team environment and independently as needed.
• Ability to travel occasionally within the U.S.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Security Clearance

Desired/Preferred Skills:

• Perform scheduled IA compliance checks using ACAS, SCAP, and STIG Viewer.
• Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms (e.g., SPLUNK).
• Virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon, and/or other Hypervisor based solutions
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity technology, DoD/Federal cybersecurity policy, (i.e., DoD 8500.01, NIST SP 800-171, etc.) and best practices.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (CompTIA Security + CE) or higher
