Senior Human Resources Manager Job at Maple Leaf Farms
Job Summary: Position is accountable for managing, administering, and supporting the Human Resources activities and initiatives Maple Leaf South, Serenade Foods and Live Production.
Essential Duties:
1. Serves as a strategic HR Business Partner to all company management and Human Resources leadership. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and managing daily HR-related activities at the company plant and the outlying facilities within the assigned customer group.
2.Maintain strong relationship between employer and employees.
3. Manages, collaborates, and supports the management team on tough employee issues, investigations, and transitions providing recommendations and guidance on effective solutions and/or appropriate actions, ensuring thorough documentation, investigation, and policy/procedure compliance.
4. Actively remains current on employment laws & regulations, such as EEOC, ADA, FMLA, etc. Ensure regulatory compliance at the assigned facilities and works with/conducts regular training.
5. Manage and conduct in-house HR audits.
6. Execute and consistently enforce the Union Contract, working with HR Director on grievances or other matters.
7. Understanding and support to nurses in regard to FMLA, worker’s compensation, and other available MLF leave programs and issues within the area of responsibility.
8. Manages maintenance of required personnel records related to employment, attendance, union issues, employee relations, affirmative action and more.
9. Coordinate and actively participates in employee relations activities and initiatives that foster an environment for employee engagement, safety, and wellness. At times, this could require being present for all 3 shifts.
10. Actively participates and attends department or committee meetings, providing input toward department goals and objectives, while providing recommendations on departmental best practices and process improvement initiatives that will promote efficiency.
11. Collaborate and support company compensation strategy, programs, and compensation analysis.
12. Collaborate and provides support with Recruiting & Retention Manager, Talent & Performance Management Manager, HRIS Manager, Director of HR, as well as all other team members.
13. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Job Specifications:
Experienced with managing and supporting the HR activities and initiatives around Employee Relations and HR practice, policy and process compliance within a multi-location operations and live production environment; ability to provide exceptional support and guidance while becoming a trusted resource and building effective partnerships within each of locations throughout the organization. Ability to listen and solve problems calmly, objectively, and effectively with solid reasoning to be able to make good decisions; great with project management, prioritization, managing details, and follow-through, with an excellent ability to research, develop and recommend new HR practices/policies or processes that can drive the business through our people.
