Overview

This position will be responsible for the design and development of Cross-Product Valuation platform in Enterprise Risk Technology. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll propose the design and architecture of the application (or its components), investigate, and propose appropriate technologies to be used, create re-usable frameworks, and drive standardization where possible. It will be a hands-on development role using Java 8, Hazelcast distributed cache. You’ll create Micro-services in Spring Rest and Java, JEE and multi-threading/low-latency paradigms. This is a great opportunity to be part of a cross functional agile feature team and to expand one’s knowledge base on Investment banking, while ensuring the delivery of team is of a top-notch quality with automation being the driver.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain a large mission-critical Information Technology (IT) system which runs on 20,000+ CPU cores

• Collaborate with users and technical teams in London and Moscow

• Perform technical analysis to present pros and cons of various solutions to problems

• Plan and deliver solution in 2-week sprints and 5 sprints in a SAFe Program Increment

• Work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities with a constant focus on delivery

• Balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility

Skills You’ll Need

• Experience as a server side (including multi-threading) Java Developer and with source control (Git, bitbucket), build tools (Maven or gradle), and continuous integration (Teamcity/Jenkins)

• Knowledge of architectural design patterns, highly optimized, low latency, and massively scalable platforms

• Experience developing applications (using Java, Spring, Microservices, and RESTful services), building and deploying applications for cloud technologies (like Global Control Programme (GCP), fabric, or Azure), or messaging technologies platforms (like Solace or Kafka)

• Knowledge of Agile processes, SAFE, and languages (python or Scala)

• Experience in writing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, cache (like Orache Coherence or Redis), build and deployment (using Maven or Teamcity), and using HTML5 and AngularJS

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to wide ranging audiences from offshore developers to traders

• Problem-solving skills in a distributed, multi-technology ecosystem

• Experience working on massive programs in a geographically distributed environment

• Quantitative, analytical, confident, articulate, enthusiastic and able to operate independently

• Product knowledge relevant to pricing and risk of multiple asset classes
