The Senior Financial Analyst provides high quality financial analysis and guidance on center financial performance to Region Directors and Senior Management.

You'll evaluate business performance across multiple performance standards and be an important member of the finance team providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Analysts are directly accountable for the financial aspects of a portfolio of centers, ensuring financial targets are met by acting as a proactive member in finding solutions to implement operational strategies that improve financial results and increase business opportunities.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely in a fast paced environment with business partners on budgeting and forecasting. Actively communicate, assess feedback and resolve concerns. Work with partners to research variances, develop forecasts and analyze trends to achieve budget. Develop and present forecast variance analyses to senior staff in a simple, concise and digestible format. Understand and communicate underlying causes of variances. Partner and challenge to identify options in achieving plan.
  • Build and maintain executive and board presentations. Prepare presentation materials and provide summarized information that is accurate, tied out to audited results and organized in a logical and easy to understand manner. Understand trends; ensure data is accurate and reasonable. Look for unusual trends to identify data inconsistencies.
  • Develop pro-forma models on projects with defined and thorough return on investment analysis, with capital expenditures and operating expense implications.
  • Load, consolidate and analyze data. Compare to prior year, plan and outside benchmarks using P&L and functional roll-ups to determine reasonableness. Identify opportunities using benchmarking and other trend analyses.
  • Work on Ad-hoc projects and financial modeling as required. Participate in each process by designing, testing, managing, distributing, tracking and receiving financial models and reports. Review model performance and submitted information, recommend and implement improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar position with a medium to large sized company.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in developing and/or the ability to understand complex financial models.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial planning concepts.
  • Advanced in MS Excel including experience with macros with exposure to various specialized functions and features (familiarity with Visual Basic preferred).
  • Intermediate in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Beginning to intermediate in MS Access (familiarity with SQL and Access Basic, as well as understanding of database design, structure, and reporting a plus).
  • Experience in and/or strong understanding of financial reporting software a plus, but not required (specifically TM1, Hyperion Enterprise and Reporting software).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail orientation with high attention to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management and develop strong working relationships.
