Oneida Engineering Solutions (OES) is an 8(a) and minority business enterprise (MBE) that provides engineering, environmental, science, and specialized professional services solutions for customers nationwide.
OES has an immediate opening for a professional to support Tribal environmental regulatory agency program initiatives. The professional will be based in the Midwest and provide as-needed project support for national and regional programs.
This position will be on a part-time basis with flexible scheduling, Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Anticipated average workload will be up to 24 hours per week. An employee in this position must demonstrate specialized technical knowledge in specific areas and exercise judgment within established organizational values, policies and procedures and have good communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of experience in performance and management of environmental compliance and contamination assessment/remediation projects. Some directly related education may be considered experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college with major course work in civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science or related field is required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Project work experience preparing proposals and managing public utility projects.
- Project work experience with Tribal environmental programs
- Work experience building and collaborating with technical consultant teams, managing staff workload and commitments, grant proposal preparation and management.
- Ability to effectively organize outreach and to communicate with public and stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate with project managers and other team members and trouble shoot issues independently.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to critically think, problem solve and make decisions especially while working in the field.
- Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project.
- Good communicator and team player; able to work independently but understands lines of responsibility.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the skills to operate or work on various types of environmental projects.
