The University of Virginia Office of Business Services seeks applications for an Administrative Coordinator. The mission of the Business Services units is to provide quality services at competitive prices in an attractive and comfortable environment to students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University.

The Administrative Coordinator will be a key member of the Administrative Operations team providing support for Business Services departments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Assist managers with interview process and logistics.
  • Manage relocation process for new employees.
  • Conduct departmental onboarding / orientation process with all new employees.
  • Serve as primary manager delegate for initiating and approving HR processes (job descriptions, postings, job changes, hiring proposals, etc.) in Workday in partnership with UVA Human Resources
  • Assist with the departmental reward, recognition, and appreciation program.
  • Assist with advertising with local organizations.
  • Coordinate annual performance management process.
  • Work with managers and staff on professional development opportunities and goals.
  • Coordinate and conduct all off-boarding steps for departing employees.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver professional, effective presentations to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to coordinate and monitor multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate and promote teamwork and cooperation among all units and departments in a positive, professional manner with a pro-active attitude.


Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Six years of experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Some experience in human resources, calendar management
  • Experience using Workday, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook
  • Experience developing and/or delivering training for a small group

This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.

The anticipated start date is April 2023.Anticipated Hiring Range: $19.23/hour ($40,000 annualized) - $24.04/hour ($50,000 annualized), commensurate with education and experience.
