Job Summary:
The Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for improving processes in manufacturing. The primary objective is to improve product flow, quality, on-time delivery and labor utilization of manufacturing processes.
**Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Lean/CI Champion developing and improving all aspects of Lean, including 5S, information & material flow, standard work, visual workplace, poke yoke, value stream design, TPM etc
- Develops and facilitates training for lean tools throughout all levels of the organization
- Leads cross-functional teams through value stream design, current and future state
- Attends daily tier management meetings and drives problem solving at the gemba
- Involves shop floor personnel in Kaizen events and trains them in the use of CI tools
- Works with Operators, Cell Leads, & Team Leads to drive problem solving at the gemba
- Actively drives continuous improvement at the gemba and performs time studies, line balancing, cell design, waste reduction, standard work audits, 5S audits, etc.
- Leads lean projects and facilitates cross-functional teams to apply lean principles and tools both in the conference room as well as at the gemba
- Keeps current in the field of Lean/CI tools & principals utilizing internal and external education and training
- Has thorough understanding of the operation and function of machinery and automation equipment within a manufacturing environment
- Adheres to all safety regulations

- Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in a Lean/CI role in a manufacturing environment
- Experience training, implementing, and using lean concepts (i.e. 5S, Kanban, SMED, TPM, OEE)
- Structured problem-solving experience (i.e. A3, PDCA, DMAIC, CAPA)
- Basic statistical knowledge and ability to apply statistics to process improvement projects
- Strong communication and people management skills
- Good general knowledge of business
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a Lean/CI role in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced trainings and certifications in lean/six sigma
- Experience managing a team of lean experts
· Experience working within and Oracle ERP environment
