Reports To: Game Entertainment Manager, Marketing

Status: Part-time Seasonal, Non-Exempt



Primary Objective: Act as an ambassador of the club while performing for fans at Mariners home games, community events and other club obligations. The Mascot Performer is responsible for engaging and entertaining fans, while representing the Seattle Mariners. A great personality, reliability and excellent physical shape are a must. We are seeking an animated person who can provide high-energy to be the character each game at the Electric Factory!


Essential Functions:

  • Act as the official mascot of the Seattle Mariners
  • Perform as an official mascot of the Seattle Mariners at home baseball games and community events
  • Engage Mariners fans and encourage crowd interaction
  • Create, rehearse and execute skits, dance routines and other forms of mascot-related entertainment
  • Work closely with the Game Entertainment Manager to develop innovative and entertaining performances
  • Represent the Mariners at a wide range of club events and other charitable and private appearances throughout the Northwest with occasional travel outside the region including as part of the Mariners Community Tour.
  • Maintain costume, props and mascot locker room
  • Be involved in the execution and performances of MLB’s All-Star Week 2023 in Seattle.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior mascot experience with a professional, collegiate or minor league sports team
  • Prior performance experience in dance, drama, acrobatics, or other relevant fields preferred

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Possesses strong people skills and ability to engage with individuals of all backgrounds and ages, especially children
  • Must be reliable to report to work on-time and to work in assigned area independently
  • Exhibits teamwork; collaborates and communicates with team members with a positive demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and nonverbal communication skills; all interactions are respectful and appropriate for the audience
  • Comfortable with crowds and public interaction

Physical Activities and Working Conditions:

  • Due to costume restrictions applicants must be between 5’8” and 6’1” and weigh between 140lbs and 190lbs.
  • Must wear and perform in assigned mascot costume at all times when working
  • Works in all weather conditions while wearing the mascot costume
  • Lifts up to 25 pounds
  • Works shifts dependent on game and event schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

The anticipated pay for this seasonal role is $24.69 or $30.00 per hour depending on type of shift.
