Scrum Master

This scrum master manages the execution of a Hadoop Data Lake decommissions initiative taking accountability for solution delivery. You will use your expertise in Scrum to lead our client through the adoption, implementation, and maintenance of Agile processes, principles, and practices across the team. You'll work directly with the team to identify, prioritize, and eliminate obstacles in the development process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform initial Agile team assessments and recommend/assist with the implementation of Agile team structure for the teams and associated resources.

· Engage Product Owners, Portfolio, and Program Managers to fulfill their individual roles, including but not limited to, communicating the Project Vision, Goals, and Objectives, establishing a strategic thinking perspective, regular attendance at Agile Ceremonies, and prioritization of Backlog Items. Liaise with project stakeholders including Portfolio, Program Managers to help coordinate Agile across the large Program

· Facilitate and assist in the definition of project scope, including the creation of User Stories with Acceptance Criteria, Product Backlogs, Defect Backlogs, Release Plans, and Backlog Prioritization, as well as identifying key dependencies and risks.

· Recommend and implement the use of Agile metrics to provide feedback and monitor trends on productivity, quality, predictability, and value of Agile activities.

· Work with the technical leadership to identify requisite technologies and vendors and support the evaluation, negotiation, and onboarding of the vendors.

Create project artifacts that provide a window into the project execution for the clients - including C-suite, business champions/sponsors, and mid-level management.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

· 2 years of experience with Azure Boards for scrum activities.

· 5 years of Scrum Certification.

· 5 years of experience managing at least one DW/Big data project.

· 5 years of Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (for example numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.

· 10 years of strong communication and documentation experience.

· 5 years of experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

· 3 years of demonstrated experience with change management across multiple teams, products, environments, and technologies.
