RES is looking for a Scientist I with up to one (1) year of relevant work experience based out of Dania Beach, FL office.

The mission: You will be the person providing hands-on environmental assessments out in the field. We are looking for a communicator, since you will be working closely with your team. We are looking for a resourceful team member, since most of your work will be conducted on the field, often in adverse weather conditions.

What your day-to-day might look like?

80% to 90% of your time you will be in the field, supporting projects from our Miami and Dania Beach offices. You will be conducting Phases I and II ESAs, sampling soil, air and groundwater, monitoring dust levels, overseeing well installation, and performing other field activities.

The rest of your time, you will be in the office, reporting on your field activities and assisting in preparation of technical reports – you will be making and using lots of maps, graphs and tables, so proficiency in MS Excel and some experience / knowledge in GIS and mapping is a must. A writing sample will also help your application.

Qualifications

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

• Degree in science
• Soil, groundwater and surface water sample collection experience
• Knowledge of Florida and Miami-Dade County contamination cleanup criteria and rules
• 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Site Operations Training
