Role Overview:

To continue to propel Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) forward as a growth steamroller we are hiring an Computational Scientist-Engineer at our Wilmington, NC location (yes, you could work near the beach!).

This role will report to the Engineering Manager. This position will lead modeling and simulation efforts in process physics and technology engineering analysis. The role includes modernizing the Company's simulation codes and hardware, improving the Company's modeling capability, modeling the process physics, and analyzing results to guide future technology development and optimization.

About the Role:

• Modernize GLE hardware and Monte Carlo software where needed
• Apply parallel programming techniques to improve computational speeds
• Use statistical reduction techniques to increase computational efficiency
• Develop and design code to include laser beam transport data
• Model the process physics using Direct Simulation Monte Carlo
• Analyze, document and communicate results
• Provide a leadership role for future development projects based on DSMC results
• Assist the Engineering Manager and other team members as required
• Undertake from time to time any other responsibilities consistent with the incumbent's skills, qualifications, and experience level
• Adhere to the Company's security policies and procedures at all times

About You:

• You must have an active DOE/NRC Q-clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret).
• Bachelor's Degree or greater in Physics, Chemistry or Nuclear Engineering from a four-year college or university
• Experience with computer simulation, modeling, and mathematical analytical techniques
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Fortran, etc.
• 5+ years' experience in computational physics
• 5+ years' experience with Monte Carlo methods

Pay: $160,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
