Master's Academy is a homeschool partnership in Marietta, GA providing academic classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays (in-person) to students K5-12th grade. We partner with families as they home school their children by providing in-school teaching, hands on activities, assignments to complete at home, grading, etc. Our class sizes are small (no more than 15 in each classroom) which allows us to know our students well and meet them where they are.

We are seeking a part time Science teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. This teacher would provide instruction in Elementary Science (Human Anatomy for K-6th grade students using the Apologia Curriculum) and Middle School Science (Life Science for 7th-8th grade students using the BJU Life Science Curriculum). An ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's degree in education or Science (although we would consider candidates with teaching experience without a degree for our program), more than 2 years of teaching experience, a creative and hands on approach to teaching, an accepting teacher who is willing to teach "out of the box" learners, be a great communicator and able to partner with our families well, be someone who can follow our syllabus but create unique lesson plans for each school day.

This is a part time position with approximately 8-9 teaching hours per week (32 weeks total August through May). Lesson planning, grading, and posting assignments can happen outside of these teaching hours or during free time while on site Tuesday/Thursday.

We are scheduling phone interviews now and then in person interviews as soon as possible this summer.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and educate students in a classroom setting - small class sizes of students with a variety of learning styles
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans - syllabi are provided
• Adhere to established teaching curriculum - books are provided to teachers and student books are purchased by parents
• Maintain positive relationships with students and parents - we truly partner with parents as they homeschool their students.
• Upload assignments each week for students to work on at home when not at school
• Grade assignments and tests (4th-8th grade)
• Maintain the health and safety of all students

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to build rapport with students
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership qualities
