Scheduler Job at Omega Technical Services
This position is for an advanced project scheduler that will work in support of the Operations Integration Center (OIC) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), and its respective project managers and teams, to integrate schedules at a Processing Facility to establish site priorities. Position will have direct responsibility for inter-project relationships, schedule logic development, and schedule tracking to maintain integration. Individual must have advanced working knowledge in the execution of Integrated Master Schedules, establishment of schedule coding, and Work Breakdown Structures.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develop totally integrated schedules between research, production, programs, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance, and operations.
- Work with Industrial Engineers on schedule development for all facility related schedules that require integration.
- Maintain working schedules including recording performance and forecast changes, supporting milestone tracking, variance analysis and reporting.
- Develop Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integration of work across multiple projects.
- Maintain schedule risk activities and mitigating actions within the schedule network.
- Develop metrics and reports for management and stakeholders.
- Support project controls processes, policies and procedures; and support/offer changes to improve the effectiveness of policies and procedures for the betterment of projects.
- Review work for completeness as required by project specifications and scope definition.
- Recommend solutions or recovery plans to schedule or cost impact or delays.
- Understand how to analyze schedules, review delays, propose schedule recovery alternatives and be able to present those to team members of varying levels and/or clients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICIATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Experience: 5 or more years related experience and/or a combination of education and experience equaling 8 years, such as an Associate degree and 6 years of experience
- Knowledge and experience utilizing EVMS principles and techniques that comply with DOE 413.3, US Government Accountability Office (GAO) scheduling best practices, and EIA-748 in U.S. Government facilities, programs, and/or projects
- Knowledge and experience working with standard business systems, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and experience using Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Self-starter with the ability to organize, prioritize, and execute on multiple tasks with management deadlines and fluctuating priorities.
- Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, verbal and written,
- Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management team members.
