Description:

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a Scanning Specialist to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. The Scanning Specialist is r esponsible for scanning documents into the patient electronic medical record.

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care : Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively

  • Excellent Communicator : Communicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family members

  • Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.

  • Technical Familiarity: Understanding of computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applicat ions such as Microsoft Office .

  • Active Teamwork : Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork

Requirements:

  • Education : High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Ability to scan 60 documents per hour.

  • Proficient use of computer in windows based environment.

  • Knowledge of forms and documents contained in the medical record . Knowledge of EpicCare, or other EMR system desirable.

  • Ability to differentiate between diagnoses, procedures, and/or results. Ability to understand the difference between orders and various encounter types.

  • Must possess interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well with others in a very busy, close environment as well as independently with minimal supervision. Good verbal communication skills required .

  • Must cooperate well with others by demonstrating flexibility and working in a collaborative manner to meet departmental needs

  • High level of dependability and accuracy required . Ability to work independently. Well organized and detail oriented. Goal-directed.

  • Ability to pass drug s creenings and background checks

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in health information department preferred. Medical Terminology or one (1) to two (2) years’ experience with medical documentation . Previous experience with scanning systems preferred.

  • Associates degree in Medical Records/Health Information Management (RHIT) or Medical Assistant preferred.
