Job Summary
The position of Sales Representative is responsible for business development and relationship management throughout our local market for truck sales. A successful Sales Representative will be an effective prospector, be comfortable cold calling on the phone as well as in person, and above average communicator. The ability to work in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment is essential. The primary goal of a Sales Representative is revenue generation through creatively fostering and effectively managing business relationships. The Retail Sales Representative will be responsible for 1 floor day per week where they will have access to any inbound calls and/or walk-in prospective customers who are not already working with another Sales Representative. All other leads will be self-generated through outbound phone calls, in person cold calls, and relationship management.
Essential Duties
- Represent all aspects of the dealership to the local market
- Gather and present market/customer intelligence to the STG leadership team
- Coordinate all used truck business through the Retail Sales Manager
- Own and direct all aspects of used truck transactions from first call to funding and delivery
- Use available tools to effectively prospect the market
- Qualify leads resulting from prospecting
- Develop and maintain relationships with multiple accounts
- Maintain daily call log
- Develop expert-level product knowledge through various sales certification programs
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office as well as proprietary software/systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/relationships
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License
- Effectively demonstrate product features, advantages, and benefits
- Ability to handle sales cycles of 12 months or more
- Must be a self-starter and possess superior time management skills
- Ability to create innovative solutions to customer problems
- Effectively communicate solutions
- Other miscellaneous duties as required
Qualifications
- B2B Sales experience
- Ability to use computer technology
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Must be willing and able to work on your feet
- Must be willing and able to climb into and out of class 8 trucks on a regular basis
- Preferred - Commercial Driver's License
- Preferred - Bilingual (English/Spanish)
