Position Summary
The Sales Director is responsible for promoting and driving the sales cycle of our North American solutions which include: final mile, same day and next day delivery solutions. The Sales Director will interface with potential Clients’ key stakeholders across the Supply Chain including Vice President of Operations, VP of Logistics, VP of Ecommerce, Director of Supply Chain, head of strategy, VP of Marketing and the Chief Operating Officer. In this position, you will develop and implement a strategy to acquire new logo clients to achieve and exceed your target revenue goals. This is a “hunting” role focused on securing new customers and then handing off to the Client Success Team. The ideal candidate has experience in the last mile parcel delivery industry. This could be working for a regional or national carrier or working for a technology company.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the entire sales process from start to finish
- Prospecting into a named account sales territory.
- Develops and maintains relationships at the “C” and “VP” levels of the defined target named accounts
- Develops compelling value propositions based on ROI cost/benefit analysis
- Executes against the major steps of the sales process including finding new business opportunities, qualifying new opportunities, analyzing, creating proposals, negotiation of contract and closing new business
- Sells AxleHire services to attain annual quota and revenue targets
- Coordinates with internal teams (pricing, technology, operations and legal)
- Provide inputs/ideas and participates in marketing events (trade shows, webinars etc.)
- Provide accurate and timely sales updates to Salesforce
- Leverage your sales network to develop leads
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated sales track record with Tier 1 and Tier 2 pure play online retailers, omni channel retailers, branded manufacturers (8-10 years of experience and above) is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the direct to consumer parcel delivery industry
- Understanding of retail industry dynamics, business challenges, related cost drivers, and customer needs
- Understanding of broad competitive solution footprints for the last mile supply chain systems (TMS, WMS) is preferred
- Experience with using Salesforce to log and track the selling process
- Work with prospects to understand their business requirements and ROI models
- Ability to rapidly assimilate and then clearly articulate value propositions
- Ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively bringing in the right resources to bear at the right stage in the selling process
- Experience and success in selling short lead time solutions – 2-6 months average deal size $500K-$1MM for individual transactions
- Proven new business development skills and sales quota attainment track record
- Mentality of a creative self-starter; ability to work independently and find a way into the prospect; in charge of his/her destiny with minimal support until the prospect is qualified
- Must have strong skills in the following: communication, presentation skills, negotiation, organizational and attention to detail
- Proficient networker. Ability to develop and leverage relationships with senior industry leaders and key influencers
- An accomplished track record of selling multi-level to business, technical, operations, IT people, and C-level Directors
- Bachelor’s degree or related area is required
- Regional travel is required for this role (approximately 25%-35) by land and/or air

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
