Position Overview: As a Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures within our construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and employees to promote a safety-conscious culture, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Safety Programs:
- Design, develop, and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the construction industry.
- Conduct regular reviews of safety programs to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and support in the creation and implementation of site-specific safety plans for each project.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of construction sites, identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to minimize risks.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish and enforce safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines.
Regularly inspect construction sites, equipment, and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and subcontractors, covering topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and safe work practices.
- Provide ongoing safety education and awareness to promote a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
- Stay updated on emerging safety trends, regulations, and advancements in the construction industry to continuously enhance training programs.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate incident records, including reports, statistics, and documentation required by regulatory agencies.
- Analyze incident data to identify patterns or trends and proactively implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, local building codes, and industry-specific guidelines.
- Monitor changes in safety regulations and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, or investigations, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.
Job Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience (X+ years) as a Safety Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and train employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and other relevant tools.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various construction site environments.

Pay: $89,980.00 - $96,328.00 per year
