Job Summary:
UTSS Rigger In-Training will be responsible for the effective, efficient, and safe, turnkey delivery of hospital-grade medical equipment to include, but not limited to, x-ray, mammography, CT, MRI, Linear Accelerator, and Cath-Lab equipment. Additionally, at UTSS Riggers must be in training to obtain their NCCCO Rigger Level 1 Certification and hold such certification for at least 1 year.
Riggers In-Training work as part of a 3 or 4 person team and will work closely with original equipment manufacturers such as Siemens Healthineers and Phillips Medical to ensure safe and efficient delivery of medical equipment, damage free and within the specified time-frame. Additionally, this employee will work closely with UTSS administrative staff and lead installers to deliver feedback on projects, customer needs, and promote corporate values. Together with the rest of the UTSS Team, the Riggers will play a critical role in supporting UTSS growth, success, and delivering life-saving equipment to patients globally.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Driving a company-owned vehicle regionally to customer facilities for projects, arriving on-time and with appropriate tooling
· Loading and Driving a Commercial Truck to Pick Up Equipment from Regional Hub Locations or facilities and Transport Equipment to end Destination
· Uncrating, lifting, moving, and transporting equipment into or out of customer facilities safely, efficiently, and damage-free
· Participating in pre-job stretching and Safety Walkthroughs
· Loading and unloading equipment from UTSS and/or contract trucks
· Submitting time and expenses daily via company-owned cell phone
· Communicating all on-site issues, delays, or changes to the Delivery Foreman and await confirmation on a revised plan prior to commencing project
· Participating in a daily safety briefing prior to the start of each project
· Participating in a post-delivery review to define successes and explore opportunities for improvement
· Completing all administrative and customer specific documentation
· Operating, maneuver, navigate, or drive vehicles, forklifts, passenger vehicles, etc.
· Performing all onsite tasks as instructed by the Delivery Foreman and work closely with all other members of the UTSS Staff, Customers, and other parties onsite
· Following all DOT regulations and state driving laws
· Complying to all safety protocols and standards during all stages of project execution to avoid incidents and/or accidents and take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace
· Reading and understanding specifications to include drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, delivery instructions
· Following detailed installation or dis-assembly instructions and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation
· Assisting in the deinstallation of equipment as needed and assigned by management
· Performing light office duties such as additional research
· Assisting with equipment maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and warehousing
· All other duties as assigned by management
· Participate in all assigned Training requirements
· Overnight Travel will be required as necessary to support business needs
· Overtime will be required as necessary to support business needs
Required Skills:
· Use basic hand-tools and power tools
· Operate Pallet Jack, Kickback Dolly
· Use heavy equipment such as forklift, lulls, etc.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
· 4-6 years of moving, driving, or construction experience preferred
· Pursuing Rigger Level 1 Certification
· Must possess, or obtain a CDL A, CDL B, or DOT Medical Card and remain in good standing
Physical Requirements:
· Walking up to 10 hours
