Position Title:Retail Dining Assistant Manager

Pay: $19.18/hr

Schedule: This position offers a 40 hour work week.
Hours and schedule may vary and will include evenings and weekends.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in Dining Service Management. Work involves planning, organizing and directing of food service work at Dining Services Retail location. Work is performed under the direction of Retail Dining Manager and is evaluated through observation and in terms of customer satisfaction. Activities and decisions are varied in nature, with independent action and judgment in solving common problems. Unusual cases or questionable matters are resolved with position’s supervisor or other appropriate positions.

Duties/Responsibilities

• · Assist Retail Dining Manager in scheduling of employees, open/closing procedures, interviewing and hiring.
• · Training and direct supervision of staff including full time, part time, student employees and student management team. Supervision of food production. Manage food court and dining areas.
• · Utilize customer service skills to mitigate customer suggestions and complaints. Equipment maintenance.
• · Accountable for receipts and cash register requirements.
• · Inventory control. All other work related duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

• · Extensive knowledge in operation of a food service with a diversified staff.
• · Good interpersonal skills.
• · Special event planning and production.
• · Knowledge of food service sanitation. Knowledge of health & safety requirements applicable to a large scale food service operation.
• · A basic knowledge of PC’s and or food production software.
• · Ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
• · Ability to maintain a variety of operating & general records.
• · Knowledge of institutional or commercial Food Service management procedures & practices.
• · A basic knowledge of PC’s and or food production software.

Physical Demands:

Light to heavy lifting; work long hours standing.
