YOUR LIFE AS AN ASSISTANT CHEF MANAGER
This full-time position in our restaurant's back of house works 50 hours per week.
In this culinary role for our restaurant, you are responsible for the overall success of our daily kitchen operations under the direction of the executive chef. You manage kitchen shift operations effectively and ensure compliance with all culinary standards and food service regulations. Under the direction of the executive chef, you recruit and train talented kitchen staff on preparing all menu items. You also get to assist in determining how food should be presented and help create decorative food and beverage displays. Using our labor-management system software, you effectively schedule according to business demands and track employee time and attendance.
To ensure consistent quality, you supervise all kitchen areas. You lead by example, sharing your culinary talents as you mentor staff. You empower kitchen staff to provide excellent customer service, and you interact regularly with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels. You take any guest problems or complaints seriously. Goal-oriented, you work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. You get great satisfaction from facilitating the camaraderie with your culinary team and running a high-quality kitchen!
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a sous chef
- Knowledge about food preparation and existing health and safety standards
- Ability to effectively manage, direct, and lead a large team
