By joining the Division of Waste Management/Recycling and Assistance Branch/Government Recycling Section, as a Resource Recovery Worker I in Franklin county, you will have the opportunity to provide destruction and process recyclable materials and learn the recycling program and equipment.

Holders of the Resource Recovery Worker I position will complete tasks such as:
- Collects, stores, transports and processes white paper, cardboard, and other paper materials from KY state government agencies for recycling.
- Drives a box truck to collection points for materials pick-up.
- Assists in confidential document collection. secure transport and destruction.
- Maintains recycle equipment.
- Maintains the cleanliness and order of the warehouse; performs routine warehouse maintenance tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in programs involving recycling materials will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title work in a recycling center. Required to drive and operate a 20 ft. box truck in city traffic.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
