We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Molecular Research Technician to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of molecular and biochemical techniques and experience in a laboratory setting. This individual will be key in supporting our ongoing research projects, which rely heavily on cutting-edge molecular biology methods.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret molecular biology experiments, including but not limited to qPCR, Western Blot, IHC, ELISA, and bacterial cultures.
- Maintain an aseptic environment to prevent contamination during experiments.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes for imaging purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of RNAseq experiments.
- Ensure accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and safety of all laboratory work.
- Collaborate with the research team to plan, design, and execute experimental procedures.
- Stay current with relevant scientific literature and incorporate new research techniques into investigations.
Requirements:
- At a minimum, bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in the following fields: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, neurobiology, genetics.
- Proven experience in molecular and biochemical techniques, including qPCR, Western Blot, IHC, ELISA, and bacterial cultures.
- Experience in maintaining an aseptic environment in the laboratory.
- Familiarity with RNA work is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, neurobiology, genetics.
