As a Research Scientist you will work with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for consumers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities

• Develop DNA library products
• Lead the computational design of customized DNA libraries using proprietary technology
• Participate in molecular biology application development, e.g., reagents, gene synthesis, vector design/construction, expression, protein engineering, microbe strain engineering, etc.
• Quality assay development for DNA libraries.
• Write and review technical documents including SOPs, product analysis report, presentations, patents.
• Execute workflows following established protocols.
• Perform data QC, document results, and communicate to stakeholders.
• Maintain updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab
• Identify and escalate equipment malfunctions; troubleshoot common errors
• Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations in lab to stakeholders
• Participate in the updating of protocols and database to accurately reflect the current practices.
• Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition
• Adapt to unexpected schedule changes and respond to emergency situations, as needed

Must-Haves:

• PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical biology or related discipline. MSc with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience on molecular biology. Industrial experience is highly desirable.
• Track record of various DNA library creation for protein engineering, and antibody drug discovery is required.
• Expertise with protein engineering using machine learning and artificial intelligence is a plus.
• Strong molecular biology laboratory skills are required, including multiplex PCR, dPCR/qPCR, primer/probe/vector design, enzymatic reaction, DNA/plasmid purification, DNA quantification, and molecular cloning.
• Experience with design and construction of genes, pathways, expression vectors, and strains of microbe.
• Experience with lab automation is desirable.
• Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced, and cross-functional matrix environment.
• Good documentation practices. Able to prepare documents including data summaries, technical, analytical, and scientific reports, and transfer the procedures to manufacturing.
• Self-motivated and passionate. Comfortable to work in a fast-paced team environment.
