Located within the School of ECE at Georgia Tech, NEETRAC is a self-supporting membership-based Center with an approximate $4M annual budget. We currently have 38 members across North America including electric utilities, equipment manufacturers, and related industries in the electric energy delivery arena. The diverse interests of the Membership enable NEETRAC to provide a dynamic work environment with extensive interaction to address real-world issues and opportunities. Services include medium and high voltage testing for distribution & transmission systems, mechanical testing, asset management analytics, quality assurance programs for transformers and cable, as well as custom testing programs for product qualification and development. Job Summary
Coordinate research related activities involving various testing and analysis procedures in support of assigned projects or programs. Analyses typically involve chemical, mechanical, electrical, etc. testing, drawing conclusions and preparing reports. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Research and academic faculty members, laboratory personnel, research sponsors. This position typically will advise and counsel: Research and academic faculty members, laboratory personnel. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Consult with research leadership to determine scope and extent of testing and analysis needs.
Job Duty 2 -
Determine equipment and materials needed to support testing and analysis efforts; requisition materials as required.
Job Duty 3 -
Set up and conduct testing processes following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Job Duty 4 -
Analyze and document results of testing processes.
Job Duty 5 -
Calibrate and maintain testing equipment; maintain required inventories of materials and supplies needed in testing process.
Job Duty 6 -
Review testing methods and procedures; recommend modification to existing methods as appropriate.
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Five years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge and developed skills in the application of laboratory testing processes and procedures specific to assigned specialty; analysis and documentation techniques; report writing and communications skills. Use of specialized office automation computer applications also required (e.g. Microsoft Office).

- Consult with research leadership to determine scope and extent of testing and analysis needed
- Setup and conduct testing processes following prescribed procedures and protocols
- Serve as initial contact on test equipment quality issues and assist in Quality Control of NEETRAC Test Equipment
- Drive and / or assist in NEETRRAC Test Equipment troubleshooting and repairs
- Develop and run a NEETRAC Test Equipment Preventative Maintenance program
- Develop and run a system to track Test Equipment drawing changes and updates, including transfer of Test Equipment drawings to a digital format
