JOB BRIEF

The Research Assistant will support the China program on a wide range of research tasks including but not limited to conducting background research and providing other support.

Hours

Up to 20 hours per week during regular business hours starting as soon as November 2022 with the possibility of extension.

Compensation

Approximate range of $16.20 - $17.00 an hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with a wide range of research projects conducted and commissioned by the China Program
  • Support the editing process of research publications
  • Support the tracking and maintaining of contacts database
  • Provide administrative and logistical support in planning events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current M.A or Ph.D. student studying international relations, conflict resolution, political science, economics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of China, including political, social, and cultural dynamics.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and do research in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team as well as independently.
