***ALTERA TAX ANALYST***
Remote Role
The purpose of this role is to file state and local tax returns accurately and efficiently for Altera.
This role offers you the opportunity to learn and grow your knowledge of many different facets of tax.
JOB SUMMARY
- Compile and file U.S. state, and local tax returns.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision according to US GAAP/SEC requirements.
- Maintain internal controls for SOX 404 compliance.
- Assist in financial accounting for income tax on quarterly and annual basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain knowledge of relevant Internal Revenue Code sections and related regulations, state tax rules
- and regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SEC requirements, and other relevant accounting regulations.
- Prepare governmental tax returns and claims for tax refunds.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision, including SOX internal control procedures.
- Maintain organization's tax records and files.
- Minimize tax liability through efficient and thorough application of current tax law in the filing of all
- applicable tax returns.
- Avoid penalties and interest by maintaining adherence to internal controls, tax calendar, and policy.
- Investigate and prepare responses to notices from various taxing authorities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts relating to corporate income, sales, use, franchise, property and other tax, including deferred tax and payable/receivable accounts.
- Interact with internal and external auditors as necessary to complete audits.
- Complete special projects as assigned by your leadership.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, preferred.
Work Experience
- 2-4 years tax/accounting/finance experience, preferred
- Experienced Microsoft Excel and Access user
- Experience with Vertex software, preferred (tax software that communicates w/ Oracle)
- Knowledge of SEC, IRS, IASB or other applicable regulatory agency reporting requirements and standards, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills. Confident in working directly with internal and state auditors.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
- Remote role. Candidates may live anywhere in the continental U.S.
- Standard work week or as defined by assignment requirements.
- May require after-hours, on-call support and/or holidays.
- On-call and after hours work during peak times including end of month/quarter/year; during this time PTO is limited to meet business needs.

Minimal travel required.
