Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will manage the risk management program at GSH including the functions of clinical risk management, claims management, program development and risk management education for the organization
• You will will be responsible for coordinating those systems necessary for identification, evaluation, monitoring, reduction and/or elimination of professional and general liability risk exposures
• You will provide consultation and education to facility leadership, clinical personnel, board of trustees and medical staff members related to risk exposures including risk prevention and risk reduction
• You, along with the Patient Relations designee, will comprise the risk management team at Good Samaritan Hospital

What qualifications you will need:

• Baccalaureate degree (healthcare – related degree preferred)

• Minimum of 5 years health care experience (clinical experience preferred); Supervisory and/or management experience required

• Minimum of 2 years experience in clinical risk management/ patient safety officer/ risk manager preferred

• Required to obtain CPPS within the first year; CPHRM preferred

• Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements; analytical skills including a working knowledge of basic statistics and statistical analysis methodologies or ability to develop skill within the first 6 months

• Comfortable and skilled in working with physicians, healthcare providers and other stakeholders in the organization; capable of gaining immediate credibility with individuals through experience, presentation, communication skills, empathy and compassion
