Registered Nurse PACU
Queens, New York
- Currently looking for 1 full-time Direct Hire Registered Nurse Post-Anesthesia Recovery Room for an established Multispecialty Ambulatory surgery clinic in Queens, New York.
- Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse PACU
- Responsible for the total post-anesthesia nursing care and safety of the patient while in the post-anesthesia recovery room. May be assigned to also function as the RN Coordinator or progressive recovery room staff nurse as needed.
- Provides post-operative nursing care to the patient in an individual, emotionally supportive manner, consistent with any directions or orders given by the anesthesiologist and/or attending physician.
- Ensures that all needed equipment and supplies are stocked and readily available.
- Monitor’s and documents the patient’s vital signs and level of consciousness as per nursing procedure.
- Assists the anesthesiologist or other attending physician as needed.
- Documents all nursing activities and writes a nursing discharge note when the anesthesiologist documents that the patient is ready to be transferred to the progressive recovery room.
- Requirements of the Registered Nurse PACU
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
- Possesses a New York State license and current New York State registration as a professional registered nurse.
- Minimum of two years’ recovery room nursing experience or one-year recovery room and one-year medical surgical nursing experience required.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery setting preferred.
- ACLS, BCLS and PALS required

- Shifts can be 7am -3pm or 8am to 4pm as needed
- Glendale is a neighborhood in the west-central portion of the New York City borough of Queens. It is bounded by Forest Hills and Kew Gardens to the east, Ridgewood to the west, Woodhaven to the south, and Middle Village to the north
