Registered Nurse – Lead Job Description
JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse - Lead
DEPTARMENT: Electrophysiology
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
A nonexempt position that provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following
established standards and practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervising team of primaries in the Electrophysiology department. Manages all aspects of scheduling, performance, recruiting and all operational functions. Covering for manager when absent.
  • Performs general nursing care to patients.
  • Triages calls for inquiries for the physician and staff for patients with cardiac arrhythmias and implanted devices. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls within 24 hours. Instruct patients and family regarding procedures, medications and treatment.
  • Oversees appointment bookings and ensures priority is given to patients in emergency situations.
  • Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Charts test results, phone calls, & patient education in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Scheduling of cardiac tests, treatments and patient procedures. Educates patients on perioperative care.
  • Refill medications according to AHI’s policy & procedures
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Minimum: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience cardiovascular, interventional radiology and/or electrophysiology. Preferred experience in critical care nursing/emergency nursing, previous charge nursing/leadership role.
Certificate/License: Possession of current Alaska State Registered Nurse license, current CPR certification. Current ACLS certification preferred.
PAY RANGE: $40-50/hr to start (dependent upon experience and education)
