Role Purpose:
As a high performing Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the continued development and expansion of our South Western U.S. business, working closely with our existing customers and distributors, and by bringing new business to your portfolio. As a leader, influencer and activator with internal and external key stakeholders, you will demonstrate a high work ethic and results oriented focus, adept at selling solutions, with a proven ability to win new business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts with resiliency in the relentless hunt for new sales opportunities
- Generates profitable sales by tapping into selling solutions that meet the customer's needs
- Manages the opportunity pipeline effectively, identifying the biggest and most likely opportunities
- Prepares, presents and owns the bottom-up sales planning process for assigned territory
- Builds effective proposals based on customer needs, consumer insights and the customer's decision criteria
- Builds strategic relationships with decision makers in assigned accounts
- Excels at closings - secure “commitment to buy” from customers
- Takes accountability for delivering against sales targets
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience selling hospitality industry products, consumer goods or cosmetics at territory or account manager level would be an asset and able to deal with different levels of decision makers
- Proven consultative sales skills and demonstrated success growing a book of business
- Experience with territory call planning, taking initiative, forecasting, and account management
- Based in a Western US state is required; preference to California
- Ability to travel internationally will be required (current valid passport)
- Overnight travel is required (the amount varies by territory - up to 50% by car and air)
- Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred but not mandatory
- Previous Strategic Selling training preferred (Miller Heiman, Wilson Learning, Integrity Selling, etc.)
- Daily use of a CRM platform (SalesForce, Dynamics, etc.) to track day to day customer activity is preferred
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
- Business acumen and strong business intuition demonstrated by discernment that not every sales opportunity is equal; a track record of securing profitable volume; walking away from less profitable deals
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated by previous experience utilizing systems for tracking and recording sales, effective business planning and data-driven strategy for maintaining current and securing new customers
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrated by effective presentation, influence, and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders
