Employment Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of five years' experience in a business development/marketing position in the air medical transport industry
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisor/manager experience
  • Master's or Advanced Education preferred
  • Industry supported professional development certification to be completed within 2 years

Position Summary

This position is responsible primarily for expanding the awareness of AirMed's brand in a particular market segment as well as other service lines the company offers through sister organizations. It requires a heavy focus on customer relationship management and retention, as well as industry research aimed at understanding the niches that the company can penetrate within the market for new growth. The individual filling this role will provide market feedback to the company's senior leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect(s) needs and generate product development ideas to ensure the company is aligning with its overall strategic initiatives. As a director, this person must understand the company's position among the broader market and how best to position the organization for partner retention and expansion. In addition, the role will require the individual lead his/her Strategy & Partner Relations Manager(s) and ensure they are supported, mentored, and encouraged to continuously develop professionally. This position will work in conjunction with the Global Operations Center, Flight Sales team, and other departments across the company to ensure service delivery metrics are met by the organization. In addition this individual will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of efforts and professional working relationship with sister companies across the GMR enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's strategic plan in consideration of the company's overall marketing and business development goals.
  • Identifying and contracting potential new customers (prospects) in order to acquire new business revenue for AirMed.
  • Managing Strategy & Partner Relation Manager(s) as assigned by the Sr. Director, Global Strategy & Partner Relations to maximize efficiencies of the department's strategic initiatives and help achieve flight volume, revenue, and EBITDA goals.
  • Working collaboratively with other Department Director(s), Manager(s), Supervisor(s) and Base Manager(s), to maintain good relationships with existing customers and retain their partnerships.
  • Liaise with other senior leadership team members on the implementation of the company's strategic and operational business development plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the membership department on identifying and promoting new development opportunities to meet the company's overall business development goals and strategic plan.
  • Promote the company at local trade shows, conferences, seminars and other events in collaboration with the Strategy & Partner Relations team as well as other applicable Department Director(s), Manager(s), Supervisor(s) and Base Manager(s).
  • Resolve service issues and improve service delivery through business analysis and customer feedback with Department Director(s), Manager(s), Supervisor(s) and Base Manager(s).
  • Additional duties may include negotiations of new service contracts, existing contract renewals, preferred provider agreements, vendor contracts, RFPs, RFIs, and joint marketing agreements at the request and under the direction of the Sr. Director of Global Strategy & Customer Relations or applicable senior leadership of the organization.
  • Maintain active and in-good-standing membership in professional associations / organizations specific to the market segments.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.


Marketing Responsibilities


  • Maintain expertise in the marketing of air medical transport services and other applicable services offered by AirMed and its sister organizations.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of negotiating, selling and managing strategic air medical transport relationships.
  • Ensure efficient, effective and accurate marketing, advertising and promotional materials (print, SWAG, and digital) in collaboration with various departments.
  • Assist with social media content strategy and routine content updates to the main AirMed web-site ( airmed.com ) as requested by Sr. Director of Global Strategy & Partner Relations.
  • Work closely with the Department Director(s), Manager(s), Supervisor(s) and Base Manager(s), to develop and maintain client and supportive / affiliate relationships.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in helping solve a wide variety of customer problems.
  • Conduct routine competitive market analysis in conjunction with the Intelligence Strategy and Project Analyst .
  • Adapt his/her approach to suit the differing customers' needs.
  • Maintain a proficiency with making initial prospect contact, qualifying analysis, presentation, contract negotiation and implementation.
  • Preserve familiarity with the current health insurance payment process and trends for air medical transport services and other product service lines applicable to AirMed's strategic initiatives.
  • Practice excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Identify new market segments and attract new partners in an effort to expand the company's product reach and profit revenues.
