Hiring Salary: $70,491.20 - $84,593.60 Annually, depending on qualifications

Working as part of an innovative team and reporting to the Library Director, the Reference and Technology Supervisor is responsible for the development, planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating of activities, operations, and expenditures of Adult Services. Responsibilities include directing patron research, providing resources, and ensuring that users are able to access current and relevant technology. This role is also responsible for supervising and evaluating staff, programs, and policies for Adult Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program and two (2) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a public library setting, with a primary focus on Reference and Technology; knowledge of automated library systems, experience with Evergreen preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
- Knowledge of public library principles, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service best practices.
- Knowledge of reference sources and the organization and management of library reference operations.
- Knowledge, training, and ability in advanced library procedures, including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to establish positive public relations.
- Ability to troubleshoot computers and other library equipment.
- Management, planning, and supervisory skills, including the ability to function well as part of a management team that supports the overall goals of the library, as formulated by the Trustees, Town Manager, and Library Director.
- Computer skills that encompass effective use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, email, social media, automated library systems, online information research, and other library-related software.
