About Our Opportunity
Our Recruiting Specialist oversees and administers the application process from posting through onboarding. As a Recruiter, you will be the face of our association and serve in an essential role focused on identifying and selecting unique, diverse candidates.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Identifies and encourages the application of unique and diverse talent in accordance with the association’s initiatives and hiring policy and procedures.
- Prepares and places job postings, which represent Farm Credit Mid-America in a professional manner, in various media and online recruiting sites to attract the most qualified and diverse candidates.
- Reviews applications and conducts the initial screening to identify the most qualified candidates, ensuring they meet the minimum qualifications defined in the job description and expectations of salary requirements fall within the established range.
- Complies with hiring practices and ensures advertising and recruiting is legally compliant with federal, state, and local laws.
- Serves as the recruiting main point of contact and provides applicants with information about the association and the position.
- Identifies the most qualified candidates and refers candidates for additional interviews and/or assessments.
- Facilitates interview schedules for hiring leaders and other members of the recruitment team.
- Assists in arranging travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants, when applicable.
- Collaborates with hiring team to extend offers of employment to candidates.
- Assists in performing applicant background checks in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Keeps candidates informed of status of position and the process.
- Partners with appropriate team members to schedule and deliver a best in class on-boarding experience for new hires.
- Maintains the position description and competency libraries.
- Oversees the career fair and recruiting events programs. This includes full-scale oversight, scheduling and attending as a representative of Farm Credit Mid-America.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of combined experience and education in Human Resources, recruiting or related field is preferred, with experience in:
- Regulatory compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADAAA, HIPAA, FLSA, unemployment, Worker’s Compensation, and other state and federal laws.
- Working with HRIS, Applicant Tracking, and database and spreadsheet software in a professional environment where confidentiality was expected.
- Managing requisitions, full-cycle recruiting and associated employee life-cycle data entry

This job requires the incumbent to have the ability to:
- Successfully represent the association and interact via telephone and face-to-face conversation with team members, leaders, board members, customers, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
- Use a computer and similar office technology and tools. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
- Speak, provide sound technical advice and make presentations to individuals or groups on subjects related to areas of responsibility.
- Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
- Understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
- Reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written material, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
