Recipient Rights Alternate - Contingent - Days - Kingswood Job at Henry Ford Health
Under the guidance of the Recipient Rights Advisor, assists with ensuring that the hospital operates a Recipient Rights System that is in compliance with the Michigan Mental Health Code (P.A. 258 of 1974,as amended), particularly Chapters 7 and 7a: 1) Receives reports of, and investigates apparent or suspected violations of rights, 2) Acts to assist recipients of mental health services in obtaining resolution of complaints, and acts on behalf of recipients to obtain remedies for apparent violations, 3) Otherwise endeavors to safeguard the rights guaranteed by the Mental Health Code through activities of prevention, monitoring and education of the agency and its staff. Assists in the duties and responsibilities as outlined below and ensures that these duties and responsibilities are maintained in the absence of or under the guidance of the Recipient Rights Advisor. (Mandatory per statute) The Recipient Rights Alternate will have no direct clinical service or supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree with a major in psychology, social work, nursing, or a related field.
- Three (3) years full-time professional work experience in a mental health setting or its equivalent.
- High degree of initiative, organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact and mediate issues dealing with a wide variety of individuals and provide instruction to associates.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Word and a general knowledge of database spread sheet programs for tracking, trending, and reporting.
