El Gato Veterinary Hospital requires a skilled Receptionist to work in our fast-paced but fun, small-animal veterinary hospital proudly serving the pets of Los Gatos, California. Still going strong after 50 plus years, we are privately owned by one doctor, her four dogs, and four cats! (Actually, the two Chihuahuas can be a bit bossy, but have you ever met a Chihuahua that wasn’t bossy?). Our experienced team works hard to maintain our superb reputation in our cozy little California community.
Receptionists are the face of any veterinary practice and set the tone for the connection between staff and client. The ideal candidate for this position must:

Possess exceptional, polite face-to face and phone experience providing customer service
*
Possess an engaging, outgoing, “smile in the voice” positive personality to deal with a variety of clients
*
Be a self-starter and a multi-tasker to the max
*
Possess a strong work ethic
*
Enjoy being a proactive communicator with colleagues and clients
*
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; using good grammar, legible handwriting, spelling, and alphabetizing skills
*
Know and deliver proper telephone etiquette
*
Ideally, possess computer experience, especially Cornerstone software
*
Be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
*
Be able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere
*
Have fun with the team while doing it all
*

Demonstrate - one year of previous veterinary receptionist experience – preferred but optional
