We are currently seeking full-time k-12 Reading Teachers in the Boston Public Schools. Applicants must possess certification in a Rules-based reading instruction program. Our traditional model is to provide targeted remedial instruction in a small group format. Teachers will provide virtual support to their students collaborating with the classroom teacher, principals and families to support classroom work and continue to develop basic skills. While the format of instruction may vary, live or virtual, the aim of the format remains the same: support student success.
Responsibilities
- Be willing to adapt and become comfortable with online/virtual teaching if necessary
- Develop skill-appropriate lesson plans
- Create and update all Catapult Learning/district/state student/program records
- Ensure supervision of students to assure their safety
- Meet with Catapult Learning Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents
- Maintains inventory of teaching materials and supplies
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
- Current active MA teaching certification; Special-Education certification preferred
- Wilson, Orton Gillingham or related Rules-Based reading training specialization
- Must have all state mandated clearances
