As a Quality Supervisor at MEC, you will supervise direct and indirect employees within the quality assurance/inspection department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and upholding safety and quality guidelines.

- Recommends manpower and staffing needs. Participates in interviewing and hiring of department employees. Makes recommendations to the Manager and Human Resources Department.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, process quality and reliability.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability requirements.
- Analyzes, evaluates and presents information such as production capabilities, manufacturing problems and design & development of new products for consideration by other members of the MEC team.
- Confers with engineers about quality verification technique or new products design and manufactured products in the market to rectify problems.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Reviews technical problems and procedures of assigned departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of current technology.
- Issues written and oral instructions to ensure proper flow of information to all internal and external customers. Ensures that all necessary information is communicated to the other shifts.
- Responsible for department orientation and training of new employees, assessment of employee’s qualifications, mentorship of farm-ins, and compliance with associated documentation.
- Ensures acceptable housekeeping throughout department.
- Assures communication and compliance regarding QSP, Work Instructions, and Safety and Health Manuals.
- Participates in internal and external auditing activities as required.
- Conducts 60-90 day reviews. Recommends merit increases.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training, including Internal auditor training or certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and experience of coordinate measurement machines (CMM), PCDMIS software, and experience with GD&Tprinciples recommended.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintence instructions, and procedure manuals written in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups and customers, and effectively present information, as well as respond to questions presented form groups and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, along with the ability to develop and interpret various types of graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, as well as draw valid conclusions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software as well as the associated software that is operated by the shop floor inspection equipment, such as portable CMM devices.
