About You
First and foremost, you enjoy using your QA testing skills and knowledge to support enterprise IT application development projects. You have expertise in master data management and work well with developers and end-users. You have strong analytical and IT skills and use your QA experience to ensure a quality experience during the development life cycle. In addition, you have a willingness to learn new technologies and are extremely reliable.
Scope of Work
SSG is looking hire up to four Quality Assurance Test Engineers to work with the QC Test Manager to provide quality assurance and software testing services related to Design, Development, and Implementation (DDI) projects as well as limited support for Maintenance and Operational (M&O) support. The QA Test Engineer will draft test cases, peer review test cases, execute test cases, map test cases to requirements or user stories, assist with acceptance criteria elicitation, log, and retest defects. Additional services include automation tool use in the creation of automation suites for regression testing, drafting test plans, drafting test summary reports, and reporting on testing progress to project stakeholders. Project shall be for a period of two-years, with the option to extend for an additional one-year period. Anticipated start date: March 20, 2023.

- 3 or more years of working experience, possess working knowledge as a Software Tester
- Be certified with International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), American Software Qualifications Board (ASTQB), and/or the Association for Software Testing (AST)
- Review and possess a working knowledge of how (functional and non-functional) business and technical requirements relate to testing, and defect management protocols
- Experience working with projects within Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Produce project deliverables using current Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Visio, etc.), and Adobe PDF, or other formats acceptable to the State of Vermont
- Very limited travel to Vermont only as needed by the state

Your role as a Quality Assurance Test Engineer
- Review and understand the impact of user stories
- Review quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Draft and create positive/negative test cases
- Draft code and create automation testing suites for extensive regression testing
- Coordinate testing phases and work levels collaboratively with test manager to estimate and prioritize testing activities
- Practice continuous improvement via retrospectives
- Work horizontally and vertically across the State with stakeholders, functions, culture, and geography located externally
- Available to work as a W-2 employee, remotely full time in the United States within business hours: Monday to Friday 8-5pm ET
Deliverables created by Quality Assurance Testing Engineer as part of project lifecycle include:
- Test Scenarios - Test Scenario artifacts created during test ideation phases of applicable Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Test Cases - Test Cases following industry best practices to be created prior to each execution cycle based on SDLC
- Test Execution Reports - Weekly status updates of active testing cycles to be provided to test manager, testing team, project stakeholders
