Role Summary

The Purchasing Manager at Eagle Bend will manage the purchasing function maintaining both quality and delivery standards while controlling costs. Will be responsible for proper handling, storage, packaging, preservation and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate supply sources for raw material (coil steel) purchases
• Negotiate pricing to minimize cost while assuring quality and on-time delivery
• Coordinate customer-dictated supply sources for steel resale programs
• Monitor inventory level (including raw material) to eliminate outages
• Maintain alternate supply sources to avoid production downtime
• Prepare contracts and issue Purchase Orders to vendors using Manufacturing Systems
• Monitor cost, quality, and delivery performance of suppliers
• Initiate vendor corrective actions where appropriate
• Help manage Safety Performance Measurable s such as Incident Rate, Monthly Inspection Results and EOS scores.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• 3 - 5 years experience required
• Manufacturing, preferably automotive but not required
• Purchasing, Inventory control, Accounting experience
• Must understand basics of material flow and JIT manufacturing techniques
• Knowledge of negotiation techniques
• CMS software, Spreadsheet and word processing software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to read, write, speak English
• Excellent organizational ability and people skills
• Ability to work overtime as needed
