Our client, a global automotive manufacturer in the Holland area, is actively looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team!
The Purchasing Manager will have a focus on commodities will be responsible for managing the procurement and supply chain activities for assigned commodities to meet the company's operational, financial, and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commodity strategies that support the company's objectives for quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Manage the procurement process for assigned commodities, including identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, and ensuring on-time delivery of goods.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Continuously monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of new products, ensuring that sourcing strategies are aligned with the company's product development goals.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that commodity specifications are met and that quality standards are maintained.
- Manage the inventory levels of assigned commodities to optimize working capital while ensuring continuity of supply.
- Maintain accurate and timely data in the company's procurement systems to support informed decision-making and reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
- 5+years of automotive experience
- Strong emphasis of experience working with commodities
- Strong negotiation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement commodity strategies that deliver results.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
- Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
