Dexter, a premier manufacturer and distributor of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts and accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Purchasing Clerk at our distribution facility located in Springfield, Missouri.

Position Summary

This position supports the inventory management team with day-to-day administrative functions to ensure accurate and timely information is updated in the ERP system.


A) Evaluates all past due purchase orders
  • Corresponds with suppliers to obtain the most up to date shipping information and maintains expected material arrival dates in ERP system
  • Escalates any items where due date is out of the ordinary or item is at risk of stock out to Buyer
  • Closes any open delivery remainders the supplier does not intend to ship
B) Owns the Inventory Management team daily task request list
  • Works cross-functionally with accounting, central warehouse, and purchasing to ensure the appropriate documentation is updated and saved in ERP system.
  • Creates and submits debit memos for short shipments and over shipped items to accounting and suppliers
  • Monitors instances when suppliers do not include packing slips with their shipments and creates debit memos to appropriately back charge
  • Follows up with suppliers to obtain any required documents such as tracking numbers, pack slips, or BOLs and e-mail them to the appropriate party

Requirements

Requirements include:

  • High School or GED
  • 1+ year experience in an administrative support position
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal is a must
  • Intermediate Excel skills required including working with formulas, VLOOKUPs, and tables
  • Attention to detail, and strong sense of follow-up on open/outstanding inquiries
  • Must have strong organizational skills
Physical requirements:
  • Primarily sitting in office setting, working on computer and/or electronic devices, activity relating to travel and navigating the office and/or sites on visits.
