QUESTIONS
Supervise the activities of customer service and project coordinator personnel and coordinate with Emergency Operations Center at EOC Command.
- Supervises the activities of the customer service and project coordinator personnel engaged in creating and assigning service requests and interacting with internal and external customers.
- Oversees department’s input to post-disaster FEMA documentation and reports.
- Conducts routine quality control review of Work and Asset Management System (WAMS) data.
- Assigns work and evaluates effectiveness of work schedules to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations, submit personnel actions, and identify training needs as required.
- Trains customer service and project coordinator personnel on how to adequately address customer inquiries and find solutions.
- Trains new employees on WAMS data entry requirements and provide refresher training as necessary.
- Oversees procedures to handle and respond to inquiries and service requests at the front counters, via incoming calls, walk-ins, and emails from the public.
- Coordinates service requests with appropriate field personnel.
- Collaborates with planners and schedules and GIS technicians to update the public on the status of ongoing projects.
- Collects, analyzes and effectively communicates statistical data in recurring maintenance, inventory, status, and other departmental reports.
- Resolves customer concerns/complaints.
- Performs related duties and project management as required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineers, field supervisors, employees, contractors, and the public.
- Excellent communications skills and proactive communications style, both written and oral.
- Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities to accomplish work goals.
- Ability to research and maintain records and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports; status reports as it relates to pavement and capital improvement projects; work with a variety of software packages and data entry templates from a wide variety of source documents.
- Ability to plan, organize, and use mature judgement in evaluating situations and making decision in accordance with established policy.
- Knowledge and experience in emergency operations and working with FEMA post disaster.
- Skill in effectively interacting with the public to troubleshoot complex and sensitive disputes or service requests and recommend reasonable resolutions.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in roads, bridges and drainage maintenance, database manipulation and emergency operations or related experience OR an Associate degree and four (4) years of experience. One (1) year of supervisory experience. Experience supervising a diverse group of employees.
