Opportunity

Provide leadership, technical expertise, and accountability for the efficient completion of assigned projects and tasks at all Hospitality & Real Estate facilities in North America as determined by the Director-Facilities & Transportation. The Project Manager, DK works closely with Kohler business leaders, Architecture and Interior Design, Construction Project Management, Facilities Engineering, and other key project stakeholders to plan, coordinate and execute projects.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to the maintenance technicians at Destination Kohler and Kohler Waters Spas across the country.
  • Be responsive to all business managers’ needs throughout Destination Kohler, Lodge Kohler, & Chicago Spas
  • Contribute to the development of a project’s scope and content, ensuring project documents are prepared and maintained accurately
  • Approach project oversight with innovative design sensibility, exploring new concepts and approaches when needed, and developing new or improved processes.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Work with outside contractors/vendors to secure quotes for project work
  • Assist in developing project status updates and executive reports, and support in presentations for key stakeholders.
  • Advise management on all perceived risks to the successful completion of the project and obtain decisions and approval for changes to project scope, design, schedule and cost.
  • Proactively identify and recommend project value engineering and cost saving ideas.
  • Coordinate and document project team meetings, ensuring the schedules of various constituencies are coordinated and consolidated into a master schedule for project tracking
  • Perform assignments of a complicated nature in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external customers to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and system support.
  • Identify and resolve issues quickly and transparently.
  • Provide support and problem solving activities to avoid/minimize impact on guest experiences
  • Provide support to on duty technicians as necessary
  • Manage capital projects related to mechanical, structural, civil, HVAC, electrical, construction, and facilities maintenance from white paper to ACT to execution and completion
  • Be the Facilities Maintenance point of contact to provide support for the planning, setup, execution, and teardown of special events (i.e. Golf Tournaments, Weddings, Food & Wine, Wellness, etc.)
  • Participate in continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives throughout Destination Kohler


Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of Associates degree and 5+ years of equivalent practical training in primary technical field relating to area being served.
  • 3+ years in a Project Manager or similar role.
  • Certified Pool Operator’s License
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with executive level internal & external clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all times.
  • Highly organized & detailed-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage differing needs of the business.
  • Ability to serve multiple clients at any given time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project
  • Ability to excel working within a team structure and independently.
  • Assumes complete responsibility for assignments of moderate complexity and continues to aggressively improve skill base.
