Job Description:
Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants is looking for a California-licensed Hydrogeologist for our San Diego, CA office. Duties will include generating conceptual site models; preparing detailed scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; all aspects of project management and execution, including developing, overseeing, and performing field activities, while ensuring work is performed in a safe manner; mentoring staff; responsibility for quality assurance and control requirements; preparing reports and documents and with a high level of technical and professional quality; establishing and controlling project budgets; and maintaining responsive, positive Client communications and relations. The successful candidate will have an understanding of and commitment to Company safety policies and procedures, site safety standards and requirements and will perform and/or have oversight of a broad scope of field services involving groundwater and potential hazardous materials or conditions, including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil gas, as well as collecting accurate, representative quality field data using appropriate equipment and instrumentation. Additional duties include:
- Aquifer test design and analysis, including statistical analysis of hydrogeologic data and analytical/numerical groundwater flow and transport modeling;
- Preparing compliance, investigation, and engineering documents including work plans, health and safety plans, data summaries, calculations, summary tables, figures, charts and report text;
- Reviewing documents prepared by others and providing technical input and constructive editing supporting data objectives and presentation, findings, conclusions, and recommendations;
- Supporting remedial system conceptual design and performance evaluation;
- Communicating complex technical information to decision makers, including Clients, regulators, and community; and
- Performing client outreach/management and business development
Education: MS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline
Required Certifications and Licenses: Current California Professional Geologist License required; Certified Hydrogeologist specialty certification preferred
Required Skills:
- 10 to 15 years of applicable technical and professional experience;
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills, including shortlists and other presentations;
- Demonstrated professional judgment, attention to detail, responsiveness, and production of quality work products;
- Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment and ability to provide technical and professional guidance and training to staff;
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, experience, and success working with California’s diverse regulatory framework;
- Knowledge of and experience with geologic conditions, water quality, resources, and regulations in California;
- Working experience with field evaluation procedures and ability to train and mentor staff in performing these activities;
- Participation in professional organizations;
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, occasional travel, and provide technical support to other offices.
