Our Therapeutic Day School serves students 6-22 providing quality academic and therapeutic services to students with a variety of special education needs. Students are supported by a team of professionals that includes School Administrators, Special Education Teachers, Therapists and Related Service Providers, such as OT and SLP.

We are seeking caring individuals with a desire to help students achieve their goals to join our team.

Special Education Teacher Assistants work closely with the classroom teacher to ensure that Individualized Education Programs are being followed and progress toward IEP goals is made and may serve as a substitute teacher. Special Education Teacher Assistants also will work with students on an individual basis providing academic and behavioral support to student in a therapeutic manner. The Teacher Assistant will provide crisis intervention and support as needed.

Ideal Candidate Requirements include:

Requirements:

• 19 years of age
• High School Diploma, High School Transcripts, or GED

-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with Type 39 Substitute Certificate (if candidate does not already have teaching license)

OR

a Paraprofessional Certification/Licensure

We are looking for individuals who:

-Thinks positively and enthusiastically about people and what they are capable of becoming

-History of demonstrating initiative, flexibility and consistency in work environment

-Establishes and maintains positive and collaborative working relationships

-Having experience with behavior management a plus.
