Production Supervisor Job at Lisi Automotive
Position Summary
Supervising, scheduling, coordinating, and executing daily tasks of people and machines in line with the production schedule for second shift. Daily tasks may include ensuring safety, quality, delivery, scrap reporting, inventory management, and mentoring of team leaders. The production supervisor is also the head of their respective first-response team, managing safety and accidents, and reviewing all hazardous material requirements and practices. Enforce all facility rules for production employees on the site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Maintain departmental day-to-day production activities of employees, monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules for third shift.
- Supervise production staff and give technical direction.
- Ensure product is in compliance with customer standards and ensure fulfillment goals.
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance by working closely with Maintenance Department
- Check production output according to specifications
- Submit reports on performance and progress
- Coordinate and monitor manufacturing projects from initiation through delivery
- Identifies and allocates project resources
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations, taking prompt corrective action concerning potential safety hazards and ensuring that all required training is completed in a timely manner
- Actively participate in the plant Safety Committee
- Assist in hiring, training, and reviewing performance of staff
- Participate in determining and overseeing continuous improvement activities for the department, ensuring LEAP principles (Lean) are implemented in order to improve the performance of the work cells
- Resolve issues and contributes to the business unit/area development
- Monitor and maintain department productivity and budgets
- Enforce all company policies and procedures and complete administrative tasks associated with the supervision of people and manufacturing processes
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues throughproblem resolution
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.

Qualifications

- Must be able to work 3rd shift.
- Knowledge and experience with precision hi-speed machining such as vision based automated sort equipment and robotics.
- Experience with IATF 16949 and automotive Tier 2 environment.
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
- Experience in establishing and following safety guidelines.
- Broad knowledge of machining practices and manufacturing processes.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team facilitation, experience utilizing structured problem-solving methods and solid conflict management ability.
- Experience optimizing processes and achieving on-going cost reductions.
- Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment and with Plex or other manufacturing ERP system.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, operations or related field with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience; one of those supervising a staff and overseeing multiple functions in a manufacturing environment.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, schematics, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, blueprints, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of staff, vendors, senior management, and public groups.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in Plex or other manufacturing ERP system
- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. This position requires the ability to work independently and use good judgment.
Quality
