About the Position:
A Production Operator is responsible for keeping the forge, machine shops and other plant grounds clean; performing minor maintenance; scrap removal and material handling; and providing general assistance wherever required.

What You’ll Do:
- Keep the shop, machines, and furnaces clean and clear of metal scale and turnings.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs to the facilities and machinery.
- Clean, maintain and lubricate equipment.
- Grind production pieces to remove defects and scale.
- Rig and operate an overhead crane to move scrap and production pieces.
- Ensure that production piece tagging is accurate and up to date.
- Assist in maintenance or production work as required.
- Shovel snow, paint and assist in environmental clean-up.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
- Report defective material and faulty equipment to the supervisor.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
What You’ll Need:
- A minimum of one-year experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, including experience operating the forklift and overhead crane.
- A High School Diploma/GED.
- The ability to manage a very physical job including heavy lifting and pulling.
- A willingness to work a 24/7 rotating schedule (including 12 hour days, weekends and holidays).
- A clean criminal background investigation.
- A clean urine and hair follicle drug screening, performed upon offer of employment.
- Strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn.
- Commitment to safety.
